Coronavirus Information & Resources

Covid-19 Community Respons

Kirklees Council are working alongside citizens and local organisations to make sure that together we can all support our neighbours and communities over the coming weeks. They're working especially closely with voluntary sector partners. Together they're offering a co-ordinated Community Response. This will help us all to make sure that people can easily request help when needed. They're also offering support for local groups and organisations to make sure that we can all help each other in our local places.

If you need support, or if you can offer support, please get in touch via the link below. We are all in this together!

Healthy Start Scheme - changes to application process
There have been some changes to the Healthy Start National Scheme application process in light of the current COVID-19 situation to make accessing the scheme easier for families. In this current situation schemes like Healthy Start are even more essential. Healthy Start is a national scheme that eligible families can access to get monetary vouchers to put towards fruit, vegetables, cow’s milk & baby milk. They will also receive a voucher for maternal & child vitamin supplements. Families will qualify for Healthy Start if ‘Mum to be’ is at least 10 weeks pregnant or there is a child under four years old and the family are in receipt of one or more of the following benefits: *Income Support *Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance *Income-related Employment and Support Allowance *Child Tax Credit with a family income of £16,190 or less per year *Pension Credit; or *Universal Credit with no earned income or total earned income of £408 or less per month for the family. (To find this refer to your Universal Credit award notice in the section “your take home pay for this month”.) From 06/04/2020, eligible families can now apply for the Healthy Start National Scheme online by filling in an electronic application form – Applications will no longer require authorisation from a health professional. In the meantime the 0-19 Health & Wellbeing Service are working on how to ensure that vitamins are even easier to access with the vouchers. Please see link for the online application form: https://www.healthystart.nhs.uk/healthy-start-vouchers/how-to-apply/online-application-form/ As always, if you need any support with this, please email schoolclosure@paddockjinschool.co.uk stating your child's name and class.

    Free School Meal Information
Hello all, We hope you are well and staying safe. Following recent government announcements in regards to Free School Meal (FSM) vouchers, schools across Kirklees have been authorised to distribute supermarket vouchers to the value of £15 per child, per week, for the 2 weeks of the Easter holidays. For clarity, this is for children in receipt of FSM not those receiving Universal Free School Meals (ie. those children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 unless they meet the Pupil Premium criteria). The families who are eligible for these vouchers, will already have received correspondence from school about them. Should you require any further information, please email schoolclosure@paddockjinschool.co.uk stating your child's name and class as part of the message. Thank you

    Easter break
Dear Parents/Carers, We hope that all of our families are keeping well in these strange times that we find ourselves living in. During the next two weeks (6th April – 17th April inclusive), the vast majority of staff will be taking a well-earned break therefore they will not be monitoring Purple Mash or ClassDojo and no additional activities will be added. However, before this time, all teachers will set a fun Easter project for children to complete. Our school website includes information and advice in relation to staying safe online in recognition of the increased amount of time children will be accessing online learning. https://www.paddockjinschool.co.uk/kirklees/primary/paddock/site/pages/keyinformation/prevent Should you need anything during the Easter period, please don't hesitate to email schoolclosure@paddockjinschool.co.uk. Someone will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible. We hope to see you all again very soon. In the meantime, take care, stay safe and, as always, thank you for all your support.
