As a Trust school we now manage our own admissions procedure. Applications to school are made directly to the school office. An allocated place will depend on a set criteria, firstly whether we have any available space in the requested year group. Further information about place allocation and waiting lists can be found through the Kirklees website or directly from the school office.

To apply for a part-time place in our Early Years Unit (Nursery), please contact the school office direct.

Welcome to our new PADDOCK families who have a child joining our school in RECEPTION in September 2020.

We are sorry we cannot meet with you in person whilst our school is closed but we will do our very best to keep you informed and up to date during the coming weeks.

Please take a moment to read the Welcome Letter below, written by Mrs Pearson.

We have contacted all new parents by email with further details following your offer of a place at Paddock Junior, Infant and Nursery School.  Please remember to return the admissions form attached to your email before Friday 1st May 2020.

Reception 2020 Transition

Welcome to Paddock School

Mrs Pearson, the Headteacher, would like to welcome all new families to our Paddock team.

The Reception staff will have already made contact with parents/ carers of the children starting at Paddock Junior, Infant and Nursery School in September 2020. They will be visiting to give you further information. Please find below some useful videos from the team.

All About Me

Please fill out the leaflet so that we know much more about your child before they start.

The Early Years Curriculum & the outdoors

At Paddock School, we value the importance of play, embracing child-led learning. In the provision, adults enhance the learning teaching new skills and attitudes. Read the leaflet to find out more.

Reading and Writing

At Paddock School, we use Letters and Sounds to teach phonics. We begin by listening to sounds all around us and then listening to sounds in words. When the children are ready to write, we use cursive script to begin to write letters. Only using a capital letter for the start of our name.

Reception Expectations

There are a few things that you can do to help your child settle well;

*Bring your child to school on time everyday

*Read, read and read some more

*Check your child's book bag for messages

*Help them to complete their homework and bring their book to school everyday

*Celebrate your child's achievements

*Go out and about and see the world together

Pre-learning before starting in September

You can help your child to get ready for starting school in many ways.
