Pupil Leadership at Paddock Junior, Infant and Nursery School
At Paddock School, we recognise that our pupils have logical perspectives and opinions on issues that matter in the classroom, in the school, and in the community. We believe that our pupils should play an active role in influencing decisions about these issues as well as in the implementation of these decisions. To that end, we have the following leadership roles operating;
**Paddock Parliament
**Eco Warriors
**Play Leaders
**Anti-Bullying Ambassadors
**Librarians
Paddock Parliament
Our Paddock Parliament or School Council is made up of 2 representatives from each Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 class, who are elected annually by the pupils in their class. Meetings are held monthly at lunchtimes and give children the opportunity to influence decisions about how the school works. Items for discussion may be taken back by individual representatives to action.
Eco Warriors
Our Eco Warriors apply for their role by showing how effective they will be as part of this team. There are representatives from every class across school. They play an active role in school to raise awareness about sustainability and encourage everyone to be good at recycling and saving energy. We hope to encourage good habits for the future.
Playleaders
Selected pupils in year 5 have been trained as Playleaders. Their leadership skills such as organisation, communication, cooperation and a sense of responsibility are developing whilst offer helpful support to their peers. These children are provided with an opportunity to work with younger children, thereby promoting integration and social inclusion and citizenship.
Anti-Bullying Ambassadors
Our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors help educate their peers on bullying, lead on anti-bullying campaigns, promote a culture which celebrates and tolerates difference and help keep their peers safe both online and offline.
Librarians
There are representatives from KS2 who have been selected to be school librarians. We believe that organising pupils to help with the library not only ensures the smooth day-to-day running of the library, but also helps develop a sense of responsibility, achievement and self-esteem in our children.
